Let’s get started….

As you can see: The first step should be cleaning the panel. So let’s get into how I did it:

Part 1: Documentation

Before disassemblying things make sure to take a lot of photos. You will NOT remember how screws are set, where buttons belong to, where which indicators are, etc. So take your time and take photos.

Part 2: Disassembly

Let’s start the fun by taking things apart. But this is easier said than done. There are a couple of different methods, that were used to hold the parts in place:
Screw-Mounts, Plastic- and Metal-Clipmounts. So you better have some pliers on hand or you gonna have a hard time removing all the parts. I started using removing the parts with my hand and wasted a lot of time with it. Pliers are your friends!

Part 3: Cleaning

This is the fun part… NOT. I used some soapy water and a old bike towel to clean the cutout panel. The buttons are cleaned with cotton buds until i realized how to open them. I am going to cover how that works in the next post. To remove rust WD40 is your best friend.
